INTRODUCTION

The Significant Natural Areas encompass a variety of habitats and climatic variations, but there are certain issues that occur through the system. The issues and recommendations that pertain to most of the Natural Areas are linked to specific Natural Areas in two different sections of this management plan: Rank A and B sites are discussed in substantial detail in Section 6 and have both site-specific and general management recommendations.  System-wide issues and recommendations are summarized in Table ES-1.

The Rank C sites within the Significant Natural Areas system are Dorothy Erskine Park, Edgehill Mountain, Fairmount Park, Interior Green Belt, Mountain Lake Park, and Rolph Nicol.  Table ES-2 presents a brief description of each Rank C Natural Area and the General Recommendations that apply to it. Site-specific recommendations were not prepared for the RankC sites.
